August 26: A. C. Wong, the executive chairman of the ASEAN PGA Tour, is to receive the 2013 Asia Pacific Golf Group Lifetime Achievement in Golf award later this year.
He has been given the honour due to his impressive track record in Asian golf administration over the last 25 years.
“AC most definitely is a very deserving winner of the Asia Pacific Lifetime Achievement Award,” said a spokesman for the Asia Pacific Golf Group, which publishes Asian Golf Monthly.
August 13: Thailand’s Kwanchai Tannin has overtaken countryman Namchok Tantipokhakul at the top of the ASEAN PGA Tour Order of Merit.
Kwanchai, the nephew of Thai star Prayad Marksaeng, finished in third place at the weekend in the Singha Chiangmai Open helping to cement a fine season so far.
The 27-year-old won the Singha Pattaya Open in April, and the following week finished fourth in Laos.
He has accumulated US$27,748 this year from five events.
