Pattaya, Thailand, March 28: Defending champion Prayad Marksaeng fired a stunning 11-under-par 60 to take a one shot lead into the final round of the US$100,000 Singha Pattaya Open today.
The Thai shot two eagles and seven birdies at Burapha Golf Club to go to 18 under par in the second event of the season on the ASEAN PGA Tour.
Pattaya, Thailand, March 25: The Singha Pattaya Open tees-off tomorrow on the ASEAN PGA Tour featuring a mouth watering line up of many of the best players in the region.
Thailand’s Thaworn Wiratchant, winner of the season-opening Singha Esan Open three weeks ago, and his compatriot and defending champion Prayad Marksaeng start among the favourites.
The Kingdom’s other leading players such as Gunn Charoenkul, who claimed last year’s ASEAN PGA Order of Merit title following three victories, Prom Meesawat, a three-time winner of the Pattaya event, Chapchai Nirat, Kwanchai Tannin, Namchok Tantipokhakul, and Wisut Artjanawat are also playing.
Khon Kaen, Thailand, March 1: Thailand’s Thaworn Wiratchant claimed the US$100,000 Singha Esan Open for the second time in his career today when he marched to a four-stroke victory.
Thaworn, who also won this event in 2010, closed with a three-under-par 69 at Singha Park Golf Club to finish the tournament on 18 under.
His compatriots Namchok Tantipokhakul, who shot 67, Rattanon Wannasrichan, in with a 69, and Piya Swangarunporn, who closed with a 70, all tied for second place.

Thaworn, the winner here in 2010, fired a six-under-par 66 at Singha Park Golf Club in the opening event of the season on the ASEAN PGA Tour.
Khon Kaen, Thailand, February 27: Thaworn Wiratchant from Thailand, the winner in 2010, maintained his lead in the Singha Esan Open today along with countryman Itthipat Buranatanyarat.
Both players carded four-under-par 68s at Singha Park Golf Club in the opening event of the season on the ASEAN PGA Tour.
They lead the US$100,000 event on nine under.
Khon Kaen, Thailand, February 26: Former winner Thaworn Wiratchant from Thailand is one of five players leading the way after the first round of the Singha Esan Open.
Thaworn, the 2010 champion, carded a five-under-par 67 at Singha Park Golf Club along with compatriots Chapchai Nirat, Thanyakon Khrongpha, Chinnarat Phadungsil and Itthipat Buranatanyarat.

Starting with the Singha Esan Open in February, one of four tournaments jointly sanctioned with the All Thailand Golf Tour, the 2015 ASEAN PGA Tour marks the ninth season since the circuit was inaugurated.
